I'm no fashion blogger, and I'll never claim to be. In fact, if you try and get my to pose for a photo to simply showcase an outfit, I'm pretty much the most awkward person there is.

Seriously, ask anyone who's attempted - At a recent photoshoot, the photographer said "you're so animated on social media - but in person, you're pretty awkward" - We actually had to get me some champagne just to loosen up!

BUT, over the past few months I've recevied a tonne of messages from you guys asking about the different pieces of clothing that I've been wearing in my Instagram Photos and over on my Insta-Stories!

The messages are flattering! Especially because I often feel like a completely slob-kabob who can barely pull herself together!

The messages also inspired me to try something new, and start sharing some of my favourite peices of clothing with all of you!

(Sometimes stepmoms need to talk about something other than step-parenting right?!)

I also thought I'd switch things up and share my most recent shopping strategy! I switched to this mindset a couple years ago and it's made a world of difference!

I am more organized. I spend less time trying to figure out what to wear and my clothing lasts longer!  At the end of the day, my new shopping strategy saves me both time and money!

Above you'll find some of my favourite pieces for Fall & Winter!

Below I'm sharing The 3 Things I Think About before I take the plunge and make a purchase!

This method isn't for everyone, but I invest in quality clothes that are multi purpose - which means they can be dressed up or dressed down, and worn severals times a week (without anyone noticing)

The Citizens Against Humanity Jeans above are quite pricy. In fact, I felt like I was going to hurl all over the cashier when I bought them.

BUT they are the most comfortable jeans I have ever put on and I wear them several times a week! (I kid you not, I only have two pairs of jeans in my closet) Personally, I'd rather have one pair of quality jeans that I never want to take off, than 4 pairs of $60 jeans that just don't last as long.

On the same note, I have had those Daria Faux Leather Leggings  for three years now and they are still in perfect condition. I dress them up with heels or down with a big comfy sweater!

If I want to be able to wear the same pair of pants or sweater several times a week, they can't be too flashy!

I also try to stick to timeless pieces that I can wear year after year. Two of my favourite sweaters right now were purchased two years ago. I'm not exaggerating when I say, I still wear them weekly!

You will rarely see me rocking something trendy! I just don't want to make the investment into something that I can only wear for a short period of time!

So these are the staple pieces that I find myself wearing on a daily. By putting together different combinations, I wear these pieces our for date night, to the area for hockey or when I am warm and cozy working at home!

Like I said above, I am all about investing in quality pieces that I can wear day-after-day, year-after-year!

In the long run it saves me money, time and makes it easier to keep my closet organized!

I always know what I am going to wear because I only have a few options to choose from!
