In the past, I have stressed myself right out trying to make sure that everything at Christmas was “Pinterest Perfect”. I stressed myself out to the point that I didn’t even really enjoy the celebration and the time I had to spend with family and friends.
This year I have vowed not to do that! And so far I think I’ve done a pretty good job.
Our family’s celebration officially begins in t minus 2 1/2 hours.
- Darren’s present, which I was assured would arrive before Christmas, is “in transit” – which means it may notprobably won’t get here by the end of the day.
- I cannot find our video camera cord for the life of me
- We accidentally left out $40 of shrimp out yesterday – it’s spoiled!
- Oh and last night, before I got pulled over by the Police, my grocery cart was so full that a 4L jug of orange juice busted out and spilt all over the floor.
It’s been one thing after another.
A year ago, this would have definitely put a damper on things for me.
But you know what… who cares?!
It’s not about the shrimp, or the presents, or having things be Pinterest perfect!
It’s about the celebration itself, the time we get to spend with family and friends, the amazing feeling you get when you give someone a gift you can tell they love!
So this Christmas, make sure you don’t sweat the small stuff!
May your Christmas be everything you hoped (and planned for) and if it’s not, may it be “Perfectly Imperfect”…
I know I can’t wait to share my first “Perfectly Imperfect” Christmas with this bundle of joy!
