I love New Years Resolutions.
An official opportunity to do better and to be better!
Lately, like you, I’ve been thinking a lot about my New Years Resolutions…
This year I’ve decided to do things a little differently, and change things up in the resolution department
Like previous years, I could say my New Years Resolution is to keep a clean and organized house. To always put things back when they get taken out, to stay organized and on top of my jobs, and to never go to sleep when things are messy.
I could say I am going to stay caught up on laundry. Match the socks when they come out of the dryer and always put clothes away when they are folded.
I could say I am going to work-out daily, and try to wake up before the kids every morning… just so I have a little “me” time
I could say we will try to order pizza less and eat more vegetables.
And guess what I’ve learned…. These resolutions fail.
Things start out well, and then shit happens and I fall off the wagon, and then I get back on it again.
I don’t need a failed resolution to tell me that.
So this year I’m going to do things a little differently.
No SMART goals!
No Action Plan.
No official goal setting.
But doesn’t mean I don’t have a list of things I‘d like to I’m going to accomplish.
And it doesn’t mean this year isn’t going to be the best yet
This year I’m going to:
Get REALLY clear about what’s important in life
Be clear on what is it I want for my life, for my family, for myself
And each and everyday I am going try my damnest to act in a way that gets me closer to that
I’m going to be strategic with my time – if it doesn’t fit in with these core desires, it’s not getting my attention
I’m going to learn to say no
I’m going to continue to fuel my body with top notch supplements
Smile, laugh and be grateful
Spend time with people who lift me up
Not let the assholes get me down
Forgive myself and others
And each day, I’m going to try to be better than I was the day before … Because there is always time for a do over!
It’s as simple as that…
Blog lovers… I wish you the happiest New Years and the absolute best 2016! I also hope that you can cut yourself some slack with the Resolutions this year and remember that we’re all a work in progress.
Have a Happy Happy New Year
